Filmed at Copper Canyon Ranch LLC. in western Ky. ,GT entails the story of a small tourist attraction opened by a young couple in 1979.
Within weeks, it is closed due to an incident. 30 years later, it is re-opened...but the admission price is far more.
Vervoort wrote, directed, and produced this feature along with playing the role of the killer, Frank Bailey Sr.
The cast includes Nashville based actors:
and Kayti Protos
Local actors include owner operator of Copper Canyon - Tim Emery, Matt Snyder, Allen Duerson, and Andy Grace.
The project took form when Grace, a live performer at Copper Canyon, mentioned to Lee that he had always wanted to be in a movie. With Cerebral Palsy, Grace's abilities are a bit limited, but puts on a great show during the live events held at CC such as gun fight re-enactments, and field trips for the local school children.
Vervoort discussed the project with Andy and began writing a story. The film explains the incident in which "Frank Bailey Jr." played by Grace, suffers during the grand opening of Gun Town in '79.
Owners Tim and Carol Emery of Hopkinsville, KY. have known Vervoort for many years, and have always had the dream of filming an actual movie at their ranch. It has finally happened.
Copper Canyon has been a work in progress for over 20 years as Tim and Carole have put their spare time and labors into building what is now a fully realistic western town. It was the perfect set for the film.
.25 cents of all DVD sales will go to the UCP.
